Camden has just discovered ages and what it means to have a birthday (cake and presents, of course!) We talked a lot about his birthday in the weeks leading up to it and he was really excited this year.
We decided to just go the simple route like we did last year and invite some friends to play at the park. Several friends were either out of town, sick, or without transportation, so it was a small crowd, but we still had fun.
Cam is all about construction trucks these days, so it was a no-brainer of what I should do for his cake this year. Easiest cake ever. And it was a hit.

But when she woke up, she did enjoy herself.
When we asked him what he wanted for his birthday he always said a garbage truck and a bike (which conveniently were things that he saw me looking at online to buy him). The night before his birthday we were talking about him opening presents the next day and he insisted that there was going to be a Christmas tree with presents under it. We got a good laugh when he picked out his Santa jammies to wear that night. There wasn't a tree for him the next day, but he didn't seem to mind too much.
Overall it was a great birthday and next year will probably be even more fun!
