Leaving on a Jet Plane

At 2 months, Camden took his first trip out of town. We arrived at the airport with plenty of time and got through security without a hitch (other than me forgetting that I had Bryan's keys with his Star Wars pocket knife in the diaper bag!) Bryan and Cam took some time to watch the planes while we waited.

Cam did great on both flights (we had a layover in Charlotte). We thought we were in trouble when he started screaming as soon as we got on the plane, but he quickly calmed down once we got settled and he was able to eat. He ended up sleeping for the rest of the flight.

Our trip back was a bit more eventful. We arrived at the airport in Augusta with plenty of time and were pleased to find the nicest TSA agents ever. We were really impressed with our experience--until we got to the gate and found out we were going to be delayed. And then the delay became long enough that we were going to miss our connection in Charlotte. Camden was a champ and just spent his time kicking around on the floor of the airport.

When we finally got on the plane we headed all the way to the back. As we walked by the lady who would be sitting in front of us, she sighed really loud and rolled her eyes. Clearly, she wasn't happy that we were there! Then, imagine our surprise when we were supposed to sit in row 13--and their was no row 13. Cam started screaming, so we quickly sat down in row 12. All the while the lady was huffing and puffing and saying "seriously??". Within a minute Cam had stopped crying and was happily eating. As we started taxiing, Bryan looked down at our boarding passes and said "We aren't supposed to be on this flight!" Apparently when they re-booked our later flight, they changed our first flight and didn't tell us. A little scary that they let us on this flight without any problem, but I was glad they did because the other flight had already left! Once we got to Charlotte, we found out that our later flight was also delayed. We eventually made it back to Cincinnati about 6:30 pm (we had left for the airport at 9:30am). It was a long day--but could have been way worse.
